Ink Potpourri 7

I’m blowing through the watercolor paper pretty quickly these days— big piles of discards with half-painted panels or random daubs of color. Sometimes the daubs are more interesting than the panels. So I’m trying out some collage work with these leftover bits. The first one got a little out of hand, but this crop of it looks okay.

This is probably the sixth or seventh version of this panel I’ve made. You can follow the play-by-play via the related links below this post.
This go-round was mostly to see if I could do any interesting pen textures (like the wallpaper pattern). They look okay but I don’t think they’re worth the extra elbow grease.

The original version was too bland; this version is too dire. Fun to really lay on the ink, though.
I forgot to paint the cigar. It looks like he’s chomping on a dry erase marker.

This was largely improvised (the background buildings and people) and fun to paint! See the previous attempt at itl in the “Related Posts” list below.
I’ve begun posting images to Flickr here. That collection will be more “curated”—just pictures that I’m reasonably satisfied with, instead of the soup-to-nuts view of things seen here.
